Charitable donations are given to thousands of organizations that are in need and are designed to help a specific group of people to cope with their special circumstances. There are many different organizations that rely on the fundraising efforts of volunteers to fund their annual budgets and fill the requirements of their operating costs. Charitable contributions account for a broad spectrum of non profit organizations ability to function and provide needed services and help to the people that they are dedicated to assisting.
When people think of charity they think of helping those that are in need or are less fortunate than they are. For many people that donate to a non profit charity the organization in question holds a special place for them in their hearts. Family members that may have suffered from a life threatening illness or debilitating disease typically have a soft spot for organizations that are seeking cures for illnesses that have disrupted their lives and the lives of their extended family members.
Other international organizations are target on helping under privileged children in developing nations to receive nutritional sustenance and medical vaccinations to ward off starvation and disease. By sponsoring a child that is orphaned or otherwise in need a person can undergo a virtual adoption of the child that they sponsor and receive letters and photos of the people that they are helping through their monthly donations. For these types of charitable organizations a sponsor can see the benefits that their contribution makes to the life of the children they touch.
Charities that make the news and receive sponsorship from caring individuals and families reap the benefits of their humanitarian efforts to inform the world of those that are less fortunate. Through the thousands of dollars spent on production and advertising these charities receive a multitude of donations to help the cause move forward. People in foreign countries and those with serious medical conditions are seeing the benefits of their charity providing the much needed care that they are seeking. And as a result the donors feel that their contributions no matter how small or great are making a difference to the lives of those they reach out to.
But not every charity has the funding to get on the air and receive a national audience. Even with the public service announcements and free publicity offered through the television and radio stations there are charities that are struggling to make a difference in the lives of those they are concerned about and devote all of their time and attention to the cause at hand. Without help those that are behind the scenes doing the charitable work of fundraising and overseeing the dispersement of charitable funds these charities would fall by the wayside and take with them many people that are looking for and hoping for a better life through the opportunity that charity provides.
Even with the United States there are people that have fallen victim to unfortunate circumstances and through no fault of their own are caught in situations that they cannot escape without the intervention of caring people that not only want to see the world become a better place, but that know there are issues and problems that have to be faced on the home front as well as those that effect people in other countries around the world.
Closer to home there are children in the inner cities and poorer neighborhoods of America that need help. Children that are caught in the upheaval of urban warfare caused by gang violence and intolerance are attending public schools were their learning environments are threatened by the lack of public funding to provide proper up to date text books and teaching aids. Where transportation is an issue and budgets have been slashed children have no hope for fieldtrips to museums or extra curricular activities that enhance the learning of a student and broaden the horizon for impoverished children to one day move on to college and have a chance at improving their socioeconomic status.
It has been said by every generation that children are the future. It only makes sense that by providing for the best interests of those children can we expect to have a future that is bright and caring for those that will need to be cared for by the young ones of today. Education is the key to helping many of the young minds that are in impoverished and under funded communities to become better citizens and hold a candle of hope for a future that takes them out of menial low class jobs and provides them with a clearer understanding of no only their unique world but also of the view of the world on a global scale.
The youth of today are a the leaders of tomorrow and as the world grows ever closer to one another the children need to have the resources and technology available to them to begin to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of those that they come in contact with, both in their own homes and in their communities and schools.
It is said that charity begins at home, reaching out to those in need does not have to mean crossing borders and visiting foreign nations. If charity is to begin at home better that it be for those that are able to eventually free themselves from the bonds of oppression so that they can in turn help others through the lessons and trials that they have learned as they receive help from people that are concerned about education and giving young people the chance to shine and excel with needed courses and equipment that most school children in the United States are taking for granted.
Through charitable contributions to specific funding organizations that allow donors to choose where and for what purpose their gift will be used the children of today that live right here inside the United States will have a greater chance of changing their world and potentially affecting many other lives as they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential and make a difference in the lives of all those that surround them. DO not discount the children that are here in favor of those overseas, but by donating to causes that are close to home in addition to those that are thousands of miles away the world will become a better place.
