In this day and age many well known celebrities have started to use their fame for good. They are now taking items from their personal collections and lives and are giving them to charitable events in order to have them auctioned off in order to obtain money for the organization and or charity. This allows busy celebrities who are unable to attend the event themselves in order to raise money, to show that they still care about the charity, and also give them a method and means to raise money for the charity.

The majority of celebrities will always list such functions wherein they will have items from their personal collection auctioned off for charity on their websites. If you are interested in obtaining one of a kind items from a celebrities personal collection to add to your own celebrity collectibles, then you should look into attending one of these auctions in person. However, in some cases these types of auctions for charity are conducted online. Meaning that you will never have to leave the comfort of your home in order to bid and hopefully obtain the celebrity collectibles that you desire to acquire for your collection.

Many charitable auctions that do offer up celebrity collectibles as part of their auction will obtain the items directly from the celebrity or will have them donated by another collector who supports the charity. In the case of the latter, the auction and charity will test the items for authenticity to assure all bidders that the items they are bidding on, in regards to celebrity collectibles, are one hundred percent authentic in nature.

There are actually two main things that a charitable auction will do before offering the items up for bid. First they will acquire a certificate of authenticity for the item. They will do this by hiring an outside organization to investigate the legitimacy of the item. This will give you the bidder freedom of mind that the item up for bid is in pristine quality and actually belonged to, was signed by, or was used by the celebrity in question.

The second thing that the charity auction will do is hire an appraiser to determine the overall value of the celebrity collectible up for auction. They will consider the authenticity of the item and then will appraise the item based on its rarity and popularity on the market.

Since the charity has already taken these two steps prior to an item going up for bid in a celebrity collectible auction, you will save yourself both the time and money it would take you to do these things if you were purchasing it from a private seller. This is why so many collectors prefer to acquire their celebrity collectibles from celebrity and charity auctions.

There is also the simple fact that the majority of items put up for charitable auction by the celebrity themselves are hard to find or one of kind items that you will not be able to find anywhere else on the market.
